Why this exists
The World Bank publishes some of the most important economic data in the world, free and under an open licence. But its own interface is built around charts and a search box that, as users have reported for years, does not surface what they are looking for — enough that people describe using Google to search the World Bank site instead.
Every page here answers one question: what is this number, for this country, and how has it changed? No charts to configure, no dataset to download first, no login. The unit, the definition and the source are stated on every page, because the most common mistake with this data is reading the wrong measure of it.

All figures come from the World Bank Open Data API and are licensed under CC BY 4.0. Values are reproduced as published. The summary statistics shown (change over time, compound annual growth, extremes) are calculated by this site from the annual series. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the World Bank.
